DC water pump for solar powered pool heater

I require a solar cluster and a small dc water pump.

The idea is to use black pipe as a solar heat collector and pump it through a swimming pool driven by the solar powered dc pump.

The object is to raise the water temperature over a period and maintain it at a higher level than normal thus extending the pool usage/ holiday season in Portugal, Algarve.

Could you recommend equipment for test purposes. Doesn’t need much lift –say 2 metres and volume throughput need not be much -say 100 galls/hr

Is that a solar powered water pump or a 12v water pump for a solar heated pool?

Where can I get a 12v waterpump to use in a solar water heating system. (It must pump less than 1 litre/min?

This pump will be powered directly by an electrical solar panel, for the system to work the pump must move between .5 & 1 litre a minute

Use the small pump from the windshield washer. It works from the cars battery, so it should work off your solar panel. I’m not sure how much it puts out per minute, but it can’t be much.

Does anyone have a solar powerered pond pump?

I am looking to purchase one for a ~100 gallon pond and I would like it to be strong enough to make a small waterfall. Does anyone have any reccomendations on a brand?

How high is the waterfall and how many gallons per minute (gpm) do you need? If either of those answers are large, it will require an expensive pump and lots of solar panels to meet your head and flow requirements.

If you are trying to lift under 12′, and about 3gpm, the Shurflo pump might do it for you. It’s just over $100 for the pump, but then you’d need to buy the solar panel for around $500.

Some of the less expensive options you may find elsewhere may not have enough power to pump the water up for the waterfall, they may only have about 1′ or 2′ of head capability .

i have a whale gusher bilge pump on my boat and the rubber diaphram has split, i cant find anywhere where i can purchase JUST the rubber, you have to buy the whole kit , does anyone know where i can buy the rubber only ?

When I use the "baracuda" in our pool, it pumps the dirty water right back in …why ?

Baracuda pumping dirty water back into pool

For some reason, our pool filter is not pumping the water through the filter. its pumping it right back in the pool as if its by passing the filter. I took the filter unit apart …..and washed the filter ….and checked the piping …and its still pumping it right back in. I have backed washed/cleaned …everything …..i think it could be the O ring thats compromised where the filter sucks the water from the filterunit through the filter and out the outake. what else could it be ??

You didn’t specify what type filter you have. If it is a sand filter- change the sand. This is a common problem with sand filters. If a cartridge filter then carefully examine the cartridge for any tears or frayed spots. Replace if necessary. If a DE filter then you should be getting DE blowing back when you add it. Check the grids and manifolds for holes, cracks.

I’m looking for a gas powered water pump?

I’m going to use it to transfer algicide from a 15 gallon tank. I need the input to be a garden hose type connection, and the output also. I need it to be able to pump through at least 150 feet of garden hose to a roof on top of a house. I would prefer it to be powered by a gas engine, maybe a small one like 2hp. If not, I could make an electric pump work.
